Story #1

I am going to continue adding stories as they are emailed to me. Please feel free to keep sending them in, share your story with others!

Sincerely,
Ashley!

An email I received: (PART ONE)"Ashley,This last year has been a very inspiring year for me. I have gained so many blessings from my battle from breast cancer that I want to share my happiness with you. I thank all of you who prayed for me and have supported me. I have attached a document that I created in Microsoft Word to share with you. If you can’t see the “footprint” background, hopefully you will be able to see the words to the poem, “Footprints in the sand”, which most of you are familiar with. This poem has always been an inspiration to me, but especially has more significant meaning from this last year (2005) as I went through chemo and radiation, etc. as I felt all through that time, God was definitely carrying me. May you all have a blessed New Year.
Love,Dorothy R.Cancer Survivor
(PLEASE FIND POEM UNDER "POEMS"! Thanks!)

(PART TWO - Dorothy's Email)"You’re so welcome. I believe God allowed me to have breast cancer for a reason (He always has a reason – even if we don’t understand it at the time): To be able to help others by encouraging them with hope. When I was first told that I had breast cancer, and that it was malignant, it was a shock. I didn’t cry at first, though, but later when I got into my vehicle to drive back to my husband’s workplace, I felt like crying but held it back because I didn’t want him or others at work to see my face all red like I had been crying. Two days later, though, I cried in the shower (a good place to cry, no one can hear you), and after that I felt better and stronger to accept the fact that I had breast cancer. But, now, I feel so much better and hopeful. Another reason, I believe, for having breast cancer (or any illness) is to be so thankful that I feel better with good health. Take care, Ashley, and have the happiest New Year with faith, hope and love.

Dorothy R.
