My experience with cancer is this. 2 weeks before Christmas 2008 I was told I have a golf ball sized tumor on my right kidney and that it was 2/3 full of cancer. On April 20th of this year I will be having 1/2 of my kidney removed. I am only 42, a mother of 2 and a grandmother of 1. Although my cancer is contained and should be completely cured with the removal of the kidney, the fear of the word still is always on my mind.

Ashley,
Your story was wonderful. its so hard to go throughcancer with a parent or any one you love for thatmatter. my mother was just recently diagnosed withbreast cancer for the second time. the first time shehad it was 15 years ago. i was very young and didn'treally understand things just yet. now I'm 22 andunderstand things better. i have to start gettingmammograms, watch out for my weight and be healthy. myfather just passed away this past July of livercancer. and no more than 3 months later my mothertells me she has cancer again. its just so hard to gothrough. she is taking pills instead of chemotherapy.she seems to be doing well but it scares me that oneday she will be very ill. i will take care of her, nodoubt in my mind about that. well i know this isn'tmuch of a story. but i thank you from the bottom of myheart for having this website. its helps so much toread things about people who are going through thesame thing as me. thanx again and keep up the greatwebsite.
